Emergency Lighting Periodic Inspection and Testing
Certificate An Emergency Lighting Periodic
Inspection Certificate is issued for inspecting an existing installation and
is a survey of the emergency lighting installation whether consisting of
independent luminaires or a system of networked luminaires. The Certificate
is an un-biased assessment of the workmanship and wiring method for the type
of installation and the environment that the wiring, fittings and accessories
are installed. The inspection gives a true picture of the condition of the
installation as at the time of the survey and is a snap shot in time that
compares findings against the current edition of BS7671, BS5266 Part 1: 1999,
the Building Regulations, and codes of practice for electrical installations. Any deviations observed along with any recommendations are noted on
page 1 and 2 of the Certificate. The inspection is a chargeable item because of the amount of time
required for functional tests etc. The charge for each inspection is separate
from any subsequent estimate to put right or rewire in order to meet the
requirements of the Regulations. The
